I still cannot believe that I have a first grader. Beginning first grade was harder for me as a parent than Kindergarten was. Kindergarten for Alexis was 2 1/2 hours in the afternoon, so it felt kind of like a daily play date. But 1st grade is 6 1/2 hours, everyday. Her teacher has the same amount of waking hours with Alexis as I do, maybe even a little bit more. If she gets hurt on the playground, her teacher comforts those tears. When she discovers new knowledge, her teacher is the one celebrating her success. It feels like letting go of my baby before I am ready. Luckily, Alexis has an amazing teacher. She did last year too, so we are lucky to have amazing teachers in Ephraim.
Greg's sister Caitlin lived with us for Fall semester while she attended Snow College. Alexis and Caitlin had the same first day of school. So we took their picture together!

She is SO cute!!! So grown-up! I am so not looking forward to Lauren being in 1st grade next year. I am so not ready to let go!!!
Her teacher looks very loving and nice. Alexis looks very grown up.
